Who we are
Brainbox is a law and policy research organisation. We research new technologies to understand them and the ways that they will interact with law and society, both now and in future.
Our mission is to promote better law and policy for emerging technologies. We value the problem-solving power of disagreement. Not all of our scholars believe the same thing, but all share the common goal of identifying the problems of tomorrow while finding solutions to the problems of today.
What we do
Our specialty is in dealing with issues that are complex, often reaching across the boundaries of different disciplines and industries. We try and identify high-impact issues before they are well-known, so we can understand them before they make headlines. Some issues may never necessarily be high profile, but can still have a major impact.
Our Perception Inception report received media attention, some of which has been collected on the New Zealand Law Foundation website here.
